WHO WE ARE
Rossdale ReGeneration is comprised of people with a shared respect for history and a shared belief in possibility. We are architects, urban planners, historians, artists, politicians and members of the community, and we believe the Rossdale power plant is an important part in the exciting possibilities for the historic river crossing district. Not only are the buildings a fundamentally important part of Edmonton’s – and Canada’s – past and an iconic, aesthetically pleasing part of our city’s skyline, they also carry immense opportunity. Giving the Rossdale power plant new life will make it an important part of a historic neighbourhood that can connect Edmontonians to a unique and essential part of Edmonton’s story.

Rossdale ReGeneration 
The pictures and history are terrific–as you come across the river from the south side, this beautiful industrial building stands as the ‘entrance’ to the downtown! The Rossdale Generator plant must be preserved and re-purposed.
This is a great initiative. Thank you to those that have already stepped-up to help envision what this building and site could be, and how we might get there. This is the cliche ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ to do something special at the historic ‘heart’ of our city!

Thanks, Jarrett. Keep an eye on how things go on Monday with presentations to City Council and in any case, communicating your interest in seeing an excellent and sustainable use of the plant to them is helpful.
Heritage Canada Foundation is with you!
As a former resident of Rossdale and member of Concerv and the Rossdale Community League, who fought for the preservation of the “Maxwell Dewar” building on this site, it is really heartening to see that the vision continues of what can be at the “Entrance to the Capital City of Alberta – in the the Front Garden of the Legislature”. This is a site that could be a wonderful celebration of what the history of Edmonton and Alberta is – not just the European history but that of our First Nations people. We all came together to preserve this site for future generations. This is a site that transcends what we are today and connects who we were with who we can become – a country that celebrates and preserves its history. I can’t wait to see its potential as an icon of Edmonton’s and Canada’s history realized.
